Take to the sky with Microlight flights. You’ll be flying from Strathaven Airfield just South of Glasgow. You will experience the fantastic feeling of flying, for yourself, in one of these small and robust aircraft.
After a briefing on your flight and carrying out full pre-flight safety checks, you’ll taxi out for take off. You’ll be able to hear your pilot talking to Air Traffic Control and other aircraft in the area. Once you are airborne you’ll climb to over 2000 ft and experience stunning panoramic views across central Scotland.
During your flight, you’ll have the opportunity to fly past the famous landmarks in the area, including New Lanark, the Falls of Clyde, Tinto Hill and the castles and mansions along the Clyde. Your itinerary is agreed before your flight and you can even request a fly past of your home! A new feature of the airfield is an aviation inspired property featured on Channel 4 Grand Designs.
You’ll experience first hand the microlight climbing, turning cruising and descending. You can take your camera on the flight as long as it has somewhere to secure a safety strap to. Throughout your flight you will be able to talk to your pilot through the intercom system.
